Without sacrificial impact sockets, I never would’ve been able to get sheered and corroded on’ lug nuts off of my “Heep” Jeep. Cot. damn.
I had two of the lil’ bastards on one wheel that put up a lengthy fight. Even to begin with, the removal of all 20 lug nuts on this vehicle required me jumping on a breaker bar to loosen each one.
I do believe dissimilar metals, shitty lug nut design, and road salt are to blame. Oh, and probably someone using an impact gun at some point.

Always did dislike those tacky lugnut covers. Those that don’t pay attention to lugnut don’t care, and those that care about lugnuts know those are tacky metal covers.

fuck those capped nuts. I was swearing my goddamned head off at those things in the ‘9os.
